QSI formalized on the sidelines of the Formula 1 grand prix in Qatar the purchase of 30% of the future Audi F1 Team.
What was in negotiations and strongly anticipated is now official. Owner of Paris Saint-Germain for more than ten years, Qatar is extending its influence in the world of sport and officially setting foot in Formula 1. The association with Audi was highly anticipated, although we do not know the details of this collaboration (partnership, purchase of the stable, etc.). We know more this Friday evening since on the occasion of the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Qatar which takes place this weekend, the deal between QSI and Audi was formalized with a buyout of 30% of the Formula team 1 by Qatar. CEO of the German automobile brand, Gernot Döllner welcomed this huge agreement.
“Qatar’s investment reflects the confidence that the Audi F1 project has already garnered, underscoring Audi’s unwavering commitment to the initiative. This additional capital accelerates the team's growth and is another important step in our long-term strategy. QSI's involvement further energizes efforts at the Hinwil and Neuburg facilities as they work toward Audi's entry in 2026.” welcomed the CEO of the German brand. As a reminder, Audi will officially replace the Sauber team in Formula 1 from the 2026 season, in just over a year. And it is therefore with Qatar at its side that the Audi F1 Team will try to compete with the biggest teams on the grid, namely Ferrari, Red Bull, Mercedes and even McLaren. Another huge challenge for QSI, already very involved in football via Paris Saint-Germain.
