A departing executive, Liverpool wants to take advantage of Bayer Leverkusen

The contracts of several captains in the Liverpool locker room are coming to an end. The English club is considering an avenue to strengthen its workforce.

Currently at the top of Europe and England, Liverpool is already anticipating its next summer transfer window. Three major Reds executives will see their contracts expire next June: Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Recently, the Egyptian striker let his frustration show after the victory against Southampton (3-2) on Sunday in the Premier League, regretting the absence of an extension offer from his leaders. For his part, the Dutch central defender, questioned on this subject after his team's success against Real Madrid (2-0) on Wednesday in the Champions League, preferred to avoid the question. The Reds captain said he wanted to stay focused on Liverpool's upcoming games, including the crucial clash against Manchester City this Sunday in the league.

The Reds have a new target

Concerning Trent Alexander-Arnold, the trend is leaning towards a departure. Despite discussions between the club and the English right-back, Chain Being reports that the child from Mersey should not extend his contract with his training club.

Faced with this possibility, the residents of Anfield have already identified a potential replacement. According to Bildthe priority of the Reds would now be Jeremie Frimpong. Under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2028, the Dutch full-back would consider leaving next summer. Liverpool will, however, expect to have to pay a small sum to acquire the Batavian, whose value is currently estimated at 50 million euros.
