Mercato: Motta favors an old PSG track in Skriniar

In search of a new central defender during the winter transfer window, Juventus is still thinking of Milan Skriniar, but Thiago Motta seems to favor an old acquaintance from PSG according to the latest reports from the Italian press.

Luxury replacement at PSG and mainly used this season when returning from international breaks, Milan Skriniar is a candidate to leave this winter. His imposing Parisian salary, estimated at around 10 million euros net per year, however, puts off quite a few courtiers and necessarily limits his market.

For several weeks, the Italian press has been unanimously announcing that Juventus Turin is thinking of him to strengthen its defense following the serious injury of its Brazilian central defender Gleison Bremer. But the Slovak's salary poses a problem for the Old Lady, who could not offer anything better than a loan to PSG either.

In today's edition, La Gazzetta dello Sport assures that the Skriniar track is still explored by Juventus, but not particularly hot due to the salary of the former Inter Milan captain and the fact that the latter is not either no longer very excited about the idea of leaving in the form of a loan.

Antonio Silva rather than Skriniar for Juve this winter?

According to the pink paper daily, Turin coach Thiago Motta for his part favors the recruitment of a young and versatile central defender, which is clearly not Skriniar's profile. Like Gianluca Di Marzio last night, La Gazzetta dello Sport thus evokes an interest from Juventus in Antonio Silva, the promising Portuguese central defender from Benfica.

Often announced in the sights of PSG in recent years, Antonio Silva (21 years old) lost his starting place this season in favor of… Tomas Araujo, also targeted by PSG. Benfica could therefore agree to part with him this winter according to the Italian media, which specifies that Jorge Mendes (the player's agent) will try to convince the Lisbon club to sell Silva in the form of a loan with an option to buy.

For Skriniar, the Turin track is seriously cooling, which does not mean that he will stay at PSG this winter. The Premier League and Saudi Arabia are two possible destinations for him if he leaves. His name has also been associated with Antonio Conte's Napoli recently, but as with Juve, the problem of salary arises for the Neapolitan club.
