Good news for Xavi Simons

The news is good for Xavi Simons at RB Leipzig. The Dutch striker is gradually getting closer to a return to competition after his serious injury. This news delights PSG.

Mercato: Xavi Simons soon to return to competition

Xavi Simons will return to the field in the coming weeks. The Dutch striker, on loan to RB Leipzig from PSG, was injured during the Champions League match between RB Leipzig and Liverpool on October 23. Medical examinations revealed an injury to the ligaments in his left ankle, which has kept him away from the field ever since.

“Unfortunately, Xavi injured a ligament in his left ankle (…) and will be unavailable for several weeks”indicated RB Leipzig in a press release.

At a press conference, RB Leipzig technician Marco Rose gave news of Xavi Simons. The Dutchman is currently continuing his rehabilitation in Los Angeles at Red Bull's Athlete Performance Center and will soon return to Germany. “He works incredibly hard and definitely wants to come back. There may even be another opportunity to have him with us this year,” explained Marco Rose.

Xavi has already made 10 appearances for RB Leipzig this season and scored two goals before picking up the injury.

RB Leipzig wants to keep Xavi Simons permanently

According to information from SportImageRB Leipzig plans to permanently recruit Xavi Simons and has already expressed interest in the player and PSG. Linked to the capital club until 2027, the Dutch international is estimated at 80 million euros by the site Transfer market. RB Leipzig could also take action from the winter transfer window, but will probably have to make a very attractive offer to convince PSG to give up their nugget.
