Stade Rennais: a Breton executive sends a strong message to ASSE and FC

For Lorenz Assignon, the situation at Stade Rennais is serious but must recover over the next three matches.

Surprise competitor of ASSE and FC in the race to maintain its position while it was rather expected in the fight for Europe, Stade Rennais has indeed become aware of the urgency of its situation, like his defender Lorenz Assignon.

In the mixed zone and in comments relayed by Ouest- in the Pleine Lucarne podcast, the right-back spoke of the importance of the next three matches which will see the Rouge et Noir, currently 15th of Ligue 1 (11 points) successively face AS Saint-Etienne (13th), FC Nantes (16th) and SCO (17th).

“We have to hit the people at the bottom”

“We are at the bottom of the rankings, we will have to fight against the teams at the bottom to be able to get our heads above water. We have to hit the people at the bottom, we have to take the points against the people at the bottom,” insisted Assignon.

First stage of the fight from below Stade Rennais this Saturday (5 p.m.) at Roazhon Park. Coach Sampaoli's first at home after his inaugural (but encouraging) 0-1 defeat at LOSC.
