FC Nantes has been going through a real journey through the desert for several weeks. Playoff for Ligue 1 to 16^th place in Ligue 1, the Canaries remain on four consecutive defeats. Worse than that, they haven't won any of their last nine games.

So, this season, Nantes has only two victories, during the first three days, and then nothing. A catastrophic situation which once again pushes the club to fight for maintenance like every season for several years. A situation which could therefore provoke the departure of Antoine Kombouaré, who remains supported despite everything.

A hellish schedule for FC Nantes

Indeed, the former PSG coach is more than ever in the hot seat. And it must be said that it will be very difficult for him to save his skin in the weeks to come. Indeed, FC Nantes will enter a period where the calendar will clearly not be to their advantage with shocks against PSG, LOSC, Monaco or Stade Rennais.

However, despite the very bad series which seems set to last, it seems that Waldemar Kita has decided to give his trainer a reprieve. At least that’s what Nantes insider Emmanuel Merceron revealed.

Firstly, according to him, “the management of this club is completely lost” and he believes “that the real strategy is to wait for Christmas and has been doing so for some time”. Thus, Kombouaré could be assured in his position until the end of the year before leaving. Furthermore, some coaches would already be ready to knock on the door of FC Nantes to get Kanak's position back.

“There are coaches who want to come to Nantes again and who are more modern than Kombouaré. I find it a shame to deprive the supporters and take FC Nantes hostage by maintaining a situation where it is not functioning” regrets Emmanuel Merceron.
