In this interview, he says he turned down some of the biggest clubs across Europe. He thus reveals the names of FC Barcelona, with whom “there were discussions“, but also Atlético de Madrid and Juventus”during COVID“. But that's not all. Alexandre Lacazette was also approached by PSG and OM.
In this same interview, he discusses the reasons which pushed him not to sign for one of these two French clubs. “PSG under the Laurent Blanc era, I didn't really want to go to another French club, I wanted to discover another championship“, he explains.
Before mentioning OM: “There was OM in 2022, when I returned from Arsenal. But, I'm from Lyon so that didn't interest me. It took me barely a few seconds to give my answer.“, he declared. A frank answer, which should please Lyon, a little less so from the Marseille supporters.
