OM: Seven players particularly targeted by De Zerbi!
At Olympique de Marseille, Roberto De Zerbi leaves no room for approximation. After a break during which he spoke in front of his group, the Italian coach clearly announced that training form would now be the main criterion to determine who would play. A strong message which directly targets seven players: Koné, Balerdi, Wahi, Greenwood, Rowe, Merlin, and Brassier.
Roberto De Zerbi coach of the OM
OM players are gathered in Mallemort, 1 hour from Marseille, for a cohesion course this week intended to strengthen the bonds and mentality of the team, with varied activities such as workshops and hill walks. This “team building” course aims to reinforce the demands and solidarity of the group before crucial matches, particularly against Monaco. Coach De Zerbi has toughened his speech according to RMC and will ask for more investment.

Koné, Balerdi, Wahi, Greenwood, Rowe, Merlin, and Brassier
The case of Lilian Brassier is particularly symbolic. Arriving this summer from Brest this summer, the central defender was not selected for the last meeting against Lens. Although he is a significant reinforcement, De Zerbi seems to believe that he has not yet shown enough involvement and consistency to integrate the group. Brassier is not the only one in this situation. According to RMC, the coach explicitly mentioned other players as Balerdi, Wahiet Greenwoodwho, despite their potential, struggle to meet De Zerbi's expectations in terms of demands and consistency. The case of Rowe et Merlinalso cited, reflects this desire to question everyone.
For De Zerbi, the lack of consistency of these players is an obstacle to achieving collective objectives. He stressed that great potential is not enough and that only work in training can guarantee a place in the eleven. Thus, the players targeted by De Zerbi are invited to live up to their abilities, otherwise they risk remaining on the bench.
However, not all players are in this zone of turbulence. In contrast, Bamo Meïtédespite only 24 minutes of play this season, seems to have found the confidence of his coach. De Zerbi sees him as a player deserving of his place in the squad, thanks to his increasing involvement in training.

Paul Pogba has never hidden his love for Manchester United, where he already played between 2009 to 2012 then between 2016 and 2022.
