Kombouaré and , the decision is made

Faced with a critical financial situation, Waldemar Kita's FC simply cannot afford to dismiss Antoine Kombouaré despite catastrophic results.

The start of the FC Nantes season was ultimately just a sham. After three successful first matches (2v, 1n), the Canaries have never again managed to raise their level of play. Since August 31 and its victory against , the Nantes club has not won a single match. With 6 defeats and 3 draws in the last 9 matches, the Yellow and Green are now seeing red. The lead they had taken at the start of the season no longer allows them to ensure a certain tranquility in the middle of Ligue 1. With only 10 points, Nantes occupies the play-off place and has only 3 points ahead of the red lantern in Montpellier. Logically, Antoine Kombouaré is the first man singled out. But faced with a more than delicate financial situation, Waldermar Kita cannot afford to part with his conductor.

Antoine Kombouaré until the end of the season?

The economic context of French football is not necessarily conducive to this type of dismissal for FC Nantes. The club has suffered from the drastic drop in rights and its sporting difficulties are pushing it up against a wall. Waldemar Kita could do as in Montpellier and part ways with his trainer to take on a new one. But such action would force the club owner to spend a staggering sum of money which he cannot afford. Considering his 18 months of contract remaining with a salary of 100,000 euros per month, dismissing Antoine Kombouaré would cost at least 3 million euros (staff included) in Nantes.

Waldemar Kita therefore no longer has a choice, he must keep Antoine Kombouaré on the FC Nantes bench. In a context of fracture between the supporters and their club, the Kanak coach must at all costs find a solution to relaunch a machine which is heading straight towards Ligue 2.
