As relayed yesterday on our site, the disciplinary committee should order a closed session as a precaution against FC Nantes after Sunday's incidents. As a reminder, we were playing stoppage time in the match lost against Le Havre (0-2) when around fifty ultras from the Loire stand tried to enter the field, causing the debates to be suspended for half an hour. Very serious facts which earned the Nantes leaders an emergency summons this Wednesday morning in Paris, in the premises of the disciplinary committee. According to L'Equipe, the closed session would be put in place from the next match against… Stade Rennais in ten days.
A dead loss of a million euros for the derby?
The reception of the neighbor and enemy red and black always constitutes a great moment in an FC Nantes season. Playing in an empty stadium would cause a net loss of one million euros, according to L'Equipe! This would be very problematic for a club already in great financial difficulty, sanctioned by the DNCG last summer because the coffers are so empty… Which will not fail to further widen the gap separating the ultras of the Loire Brigade from the management of the club….
