De Bruyne drops a bomb on his future

Back from injury, Kevin De Bruyne discusses his uncertain future at Manchester City.

Faced with a cascade of injuries, Manchester City can once again count on Kevin De Bruyne. Absent since mid-September due to a muscle injury, the Belgian attacking midfielder recently made his return to competition, contenting himself for the moment with short appearances during the losses against Sporting (1-4) in the Ligue 1. champions, Brighton (1-2) and Tottenham (0-4) in the Premier League.

If the medical chapter now seems closed for the Citizens' metronome, his future remains shrouded in uncertainty. With a contract that expires next June, the 33-year-old admits, without alarm, that he does not yet know what the rest of his career will be like.

De Bruyne approaches his future with serenity

“Honestly, I don’t know. At the start of the season there were talks planned, but I got injured at Brentford. It was supposed to last a few days, but I missed eight to nine weeks. So I put the question of my future aside. I'm not too worried. Everything is fine. I'm happy, I just want to play good football again and the future we'll see. I'm the only one who can give you answers, but I don't know.”confided the native of Tronchiennes.

The captain of the Red Devils, however, seems lucid about the fact that this season could be his last in the citizen jersey. Despite everything, De Bruyne gives himself time to think.
“If no discussions take place, it will be my last year at the club, but I don’t know. We talked over the summer, but I was injured and I wasn't in the right frame of mind to talk about the future again. I need to get back out there and be myself again. There is no emergency, I don’t feel uncomfortable, I’m not worried”assured number 17 of the Skyblues.
