During the traditional press conference before the match, Hansi Flick made official the withdrawal of an FC Barcelona defender for the match against Brest on Tuesday evening (9:00 p.m.).
As against Celta de Vigo this Saturday (2-2), FC Barcelona will have to do without Alejandro Balde on Tuesday evening, against Stade Brestois in the Champions League (9:00 p.m.). The Spanish full-back is injured and therefore unavailable, as his coach Hansi Flick clarified at a press conference this Monday afternoon.
“Last week Balde had muscle problems and before the match he was the same and we thought he could play, but it wasn't possible. Today he was better and he can be an option for other matches, but not for tomorrow.”
It remains to be seen who Flick will line up on the left. Saturday evening, it was Gerard Martin who started in La Liga, without convincing and coming very close to expulsion on several occasions. At the break, Hector Fort came on and his performance seemed much more reassuring than that of Martin. Seeing Fort start on Tuesday evening seems credible given the recent form of both players.
