“A magnificent moment”, the emotion of Dagui Bakari for the 80th anniversary of the club

LOSC striker between 1999 and 2002, Dagui Bakari is one of the many alumni present this Sunday at the Stade Pierre Mauroy to celebrate the club's 80th anniversary. A moment rich in emotions for the man who scored 24 goals at the turn of the last century. Interview.

What is your feeling about this 80th anniversary of LOSC?

It's a wonderful moment, there is great recognition for all the players who have been at the club and the emancipation it has had. Getting together and celebrating together, I'm very happy about it. Time flies. Seeing each other like this brings back good memories.

Can you still recognize yourself in what the club has become?

Completely. Even if the club evolves, there is always this “proud to be ” base. The DNA is to never give up, always go all the way. It's nice to see the Lille population wearing the jerseys, something that wasn't done before. There is really a pride that has taken hold.

You participated in the “Générations LOSC” communication campaign alongside Jonathan David and Loïc Rémy. How did you feel?

It was very nice, being able to rub shoulders with generations. It was a very good moment, a good sharing. I am proud to have been able to represent our city and the club. I support Jonathan (David), who has scored more goals than me.

What memories do you keep of your time at LOSC?

The climb! The club has been waiting for this for several years. We were able to achieve the objective and restore the image, knowing that was gaining a little more momentum. We brought the club back up, we qualified it for the very first time in the Champions League. It all kinda started there.
