OL : John Textor menace Pierre Sage

Owner of OL, John Textor loves getting involved in sports and doesn't hesitate to let people know about it. Pierre Sage takes it for himself when he makes choices that his boss doesn't like.

Promoted to head of the first team when the Rhone club was at its lowest and had exhausted several major solutions, Pierre Sage has since managed to settle on the bench. It was not easy as it is rare for a technician who is not even deputy, he was director of the training center, to take over and manage to keep his place. It is often rumored in Lyon that John Textor is just waiting for one thing to blow him up and install someone he has chosen in his place. At a time when Pierre Sage still has credit in Lyon, the comments reported by L'Equipe Magazine this Saturday will not help the Rhone club live in peace.

Indeed, in a very long report in collaboration with the American owner of OL, the sports magazine stayed in his company for several days, following him on incessant journeys between London, the Bahamas, Rio, Florida and Lyon. This was particularly when Lyon faced Hoffenheim in the Europa League, with a 2-2 draw which did not satisfy John Textor at all. The latter set Pierre Sage on fire and denounced his incompetence. Even if it was not directly addressed to him, the message got through, in front of the journalists from L'Equipe.

Pierre Sagé fired, Textor gives the condition

« We had a rotten first period and he (Pierre Sage) didn't change the system, why? Then we were behind and we stayed three behind until the end, I don't understand. It's incomprehensible », had said, from one of the residences in the United States, the boss of Eagle who had already shaken his coach in similar comments after the defeat at home against Besiktas Istanbul.

There is no doubt that Pierre Sage will moderately appreciate seeing his qualities as a technician called into question by the American businessman, who is certainly the owner of the club but seems to take a lot of liberties with the sporting direction of OL. As was the case during the arrival of Wilfried Zaha, which he completed without warning anyone in Lyon. A habit for Textor, which does the same with Molenbeek or Botafogo. Two clubs where he has the habit of firing his coaches without taking any gloves: “ I will never fire a coach who tries to win, but I will fire one who tries not to lose “. Pierre Sage is warned.
