These four PSG players pushed to leave this winter?

At PSG, uncertainty surrounds the future of several players, according to the Team. Donnarumma and Kimpembe are at the heart of the uncertainties.

Saint-Germain continues its policy of renegotiation and strengthening of its workforce. After the extension of Achraf Hakimi, who signed a new contract until June 2029, the Ile-de- club is preparing to secure the extensions of Nuno Mendes and Vitinha in the coming weeks. However, within the squad, some players find themselves uncertain about their future, with crucial decisions to come.

One of the most closely watched issues concerns goalkeepers. Gianluigi Donnarumma, at 25, is still under contract with PSG until 2026. Although he has starting status in Ligue 1 with 8 matches played this season, his performance in the Champions League was marked by performances mixed, particularly during recurring eliminations in European competition. This instability at the highest level has fueled criticism of him. PSG will therefore have to evaluate the future of the Italian goalkeeper, particularly in light of the growing competition within the squad.

For his part, Arnau Tenas (23), the young Spanish goalkeeper, is struggling to get playing time with the first team. His situation is also uncertain, and the club may have to decide on his future in the short or medium term, especially if he fails to break into the goalkeeping hierarchy.

Kimpembe and Asensio: no future?

Central defender Presnel Kimpembe, now 29, remains an important figure at PSG. However, with his contract extending until 2026, the club has not yet made any final choices regarding his future. While his leadership in defense is undeniable, frequent injuries have slowed his development in recent seasons. In addition, with the arrival of new players and ambitions to strengthen defensively, Kimpembe could find himself in a delicate position if he cannot regain his best level.

In attack, Marco Asensio (28 years old) also finds himself in an ambiguous situation. Although he has scored 2 goals in 9 Ligue 1 games this season, his role at PSG remains unclear. The Spanish international has not yet been able to establish himself regularly in the Parisian attack and the competition is tough, particularly with players like Bradley Barcola or Kang-in Lee. PSG leaders will have to decide on its future, and an extension could be considered, but Asensio's performance on the pitch will be decisive.

PSG facing crucial decisions

All these players, whose contracts run until 2026, face an uncertain future. If for some, like Hakimi and Mendes, extensions seem certain, other files, like those of Donnarumma, Kimpembe and Asensio, will probably require more considered decisions. PSG, under the leadership of Luis Enrique, is in a transition phase and must determine the players on whom it can really count for its future projects.

The next few weeks will therefore be decisive for these four players, and their performances on the pitch could well play a major role in the direction that the Parisian club takes. It remains to be seen whether PSG will choose to keep these key elements or whether they will decide to go in another direction to build an ever more competitive team on the European scene.
