Figures to know about the economic situation of Real Madrid

This Sunday, Florentino Perez has a meeting with the Socios to take stock of the year and report on the “owners” of Real Madrid.

The context of the Ballon d'Or and Vinicius Junior, the conflict with the neighborhood of the Santiago Bernabeu or even the Super League will be hot topics during Sunday's assembly presented by Florentino Perez, an annual meeting during which the president makes accounts to Socios.

This annual report generally reflects the situation at the club because the Socios have the freedom to discuss all the subjects they wish to the Madrid president. However, in relation to the current context, we almost forget that figures are also at the heart of this meeting and on this, Florentino Perez will present himself with great confidence.

The accounts are green

Real Madrid is undoubtedly the European club to have best negotiated the “Covid crisis” and it is also one of those whose progression curve is the best over the last two years, in particular thanks to the renovation of the Santiago Bernabeu and additional revenue generated. But not only that.

Indeed, as Marca explains today, the club completed the 2023-24 financial year with a turnover of 1.073 billion euros, which implies an increase of 27%, or practically 150 million euros per year. compared to the previous financial year. For this 2024-25 season, the estimated budget is 1.127 billion euros.

Net profit is also up to reach 15.6 million euros compared to 11.8 million euros during the 2022-23 financial year. It should be noted that profits far exceeded expectations at the start of the season and very, very few clubs achieve such profits after tax.

Unsurprisingly, the most important source of income for the White House is marketing, which generates 426 million euros in turnover. Revenues linked to the Bernabeu and its operation, taking into account that it is still not operated as planned, amount to around 200 million euros.

The sporting successes have also contributed to increasing Real Madrid's turnover even if the successes are accompanied by bonuses paid to the players and the staff of Carlo Ancelotti. Around 40 million euros were redistributed out of around 150 million euros in revenue, also taking into account the basketball section.

Finally, the Madrid club contributed, between taxes and social security contributions, to the tune of 277.1 million euros during the last financial year. It is also good to point out that this season's budget (1.127 billion euros) does not take into account any income linked to the organization of concerts at the Bernabeu since they were canceled until the spring.
