A promising clash between two European leaders of this season… AS Monaco is currently hosting Stade Brestois as part of the opening shock of the twelfth day of Ligue 1. A meeting which sees, halfway through, the club of the Principality lead by a score of two goals to zero. In addition, the Bretons lost Pierre Lees-Melou to injury.
Quiet Monaco at the break
AS Monaco will immediately put their foot on the ball… and take the lead from the start. In the fifth minute, Maghnes Akliouche recovers the ball and passes it to Eliesse Ben Seghir on his left. The attacking midfielder crosses for the French international hopefuls, who sends the ball into the back of the net. A few moments later, Akliouche came close to scoring twice but was pushed back by Marco Bizot's left post. Stade Brestois was not there at all at the start of the match and, shortly after entering the second quarter of an hour of play, lost Pierre Lees-Melou to injury. On his first ball, Edimilson Fernandes lost his duel and saw the locals score the break goal. Aleksandr Golovin moves into the middle and scores his first goal of the season.
Stade Brestois, stunned after these two goals, will then begin to let go. At the half-hour mark, Romain Del Castillo sent a perfect cross to Ludovic Ajorque, who jumped higher than everyone but couldn't get his head up. The visitors are finally launched and continue to lay siege to the opposing cages. Five minutes later, Julien Le Cardinal saw a ball come back to him after a corner. The central defender, alone at the penalty spot, however, completely screws up. Éric Roy's men are much better at the end of the first act but cannot worry Radoslaw Majecki. Just before returning to the locker room, Breel Embolo will have the opportunity to kill the suspense but will send his recovery into the skies of Monaco.
To summarize
