Florian Sotoca: “Elye Wahi, he’s a good kid”

This Saturday, a player from theABOUT will experience a moment that will undoubtedly be a little special: Elye Wahiwho left this summer for , will find Bollaert and RC he who has experienced many ups and downs in Artois, whether sportingly or on an emotional level with the public.

His former teammates will be delighted to see him again according to Florian Sotoca. The latter is also keeping an eye on his progress, which is rather complicated in this first part of the season at the Vélodrome (2 goals including a penalty but also the quickest goal of the season against ). He comments: “ I followed OM's matches quite a bit and he had some complicated moments but some good ones too. He was quite irregular in this first part of the season but that's part of the learning process. He is young and developing, he has a lot of potential but I hope we see him after Saturday! There is a lot of competition at OM, we saw it in the last matches during which he played less, but Elye is a good kid, a good kid. He has a good mindset, good potential and I hope he will have a career that matches his talent. But on Saturday he will be our opponent, there will be no gifts, we will say hello to him after the match, not before! (smile) »

“I’m not worried about him.”

The striker remembers the former Montpellier player's time in Artois. Here too, the irregularity rather well defined his Lensoise season (9 goals in Ligue 1, 3 on the European scene). “ He had several periods with us, it was difficult at the beginning, then once the Champions League left, he scored this famous goal against Arsenal. He left his mark on this match and this season. We were delighted to have him with us. Even if he's a little crazy, he's adorable. In a locker room, you can't help but love him. He had this pressure from this first big transfer. In Marseille it's a bit of the same effect and he's still a very young player but I'm not worried about him. He has all the qualities to succeed at a high level and he still has time to prove. We are happy to see him again on Saturday but if we have to put in 2 or 3 shots over 90 minutes we won't deprive ourselves of it (laughing).»
