Currently on loan without purchase option from PSG at Stade de Reims, Gabriel Moscardo has not played a single minute of play since his arrival in Champagne. Luka Elsner, the Reims coach, took stock of this thorny case and is putting pressure on to revive PSG's Brazilian crack as quickly as possible.
In January 2024, the PSG had spent less than €20M (+€2M bonus) to recruit Gabriel Moscardo to Corinthiansbefore leaving him on loan for six months in Brazil. The young 19-year-old midfielder therefore arrived in France last summer, and the management of PSG therefore opted for a loan to Reims stadium so that Moscardo is gradually adapting to Ligue 1. But there is a problem: his young star has still not played a single minute of play for the Champagne club this season.
Elsner explains the Moscardo malaise
Luka Elsnerthe coach of Reims stadiumjustified this case management Moscardo on RMC Sport : « It's not that he's too frail. When you come with a strong enough label like his, expectations are inevitably high. He arrived and was injured immediately, which hampered his development. It arrived with little or no preparation. He also came out of an operation a few months ago », Explains the Reims technician.
“Time is running out for everyone”
Elsner continues by explaining that there was indeed an emergency with Moscardo so that he can finally find playing time and start his adaptation to Ligue 1: “ It's up to my staff and I to determine when it will be more relevant and intelligent to launch it and put it into performance, but also a context where it can express itself and flourish. I know there is great impatience. He works hard to reach the highest possible level and best adapt to all criteria. It will come, I have no doubt about that fact. Time is running out for everyone. We have to be intelligent, calm and things will happen in the right order. ». The PSG just have to wait for that…
