In 2015, Real Madrid beat out several European clubs by signing Martin Odegaard, who joined the club at the age of 16.
Despite his many promises, he failed to establish himself in the first team, he was loaned out numerous times, notably to Arsenal, who eventually signed him permanently.
It was in 2021 that Arsenal acquired the services of Odegaard, and four years later they hope to repeat the feat with another highly-rated Real Madrid star: Arda Guler. According to Sport, a loan is wanted by the Premier League side, who believe they can get the teenager's struggling career back on track.
Towards a loan for Guler?
Guler has struggled to gain exposure and playing time since joining Real Madrid in the summer of 2023, and a loan move in January could be beneficial – although it could also be a risk considering of the club's injury toll. However, they surely wouldn't consider a permanent deal at this stage, which would be bad news for Arsenal.
