“It’s scary but…”, Caçapa reacts to the sanctions against OL

Former player, captain then assistant at OL, Claudio Caçapa has experienced everything between Rhône and Saône. If he is worried after the DNCG sanctions, the Brazilian cannot imagine John Textor letting the boat sink.

During his presentation to the DNCG and then to the press of the OL file, John Weaver has continued to hammer home the benefits of timeshares, transaction facilities, etc. This was not enough to convince the financial policeman of French nor the supporters of his own club. With a control of the payroll, a ban on recruiting this winter and a relegation to Ligue 2 as a precautionary measure, theOL hit the jackpot last Friday. Since then, despite the attempts of the American owner, there has been a bit of panic in the environment, aware that these financial problems will also have an impact on the athlete. Former assistant at OL, then coach at Botafogo et MolenbeekClaudio Caçapa is the very example of what John Textor wants to put in place.

The Brazilian knows the boss of Eagle Football well and cannot imagine him leaving the ship en route. “It's scary when you see and hear things like that. Lyon has always performed at this level. When you see that and listen, it's scary. I would like to trust John Textor because it's a very intelligent guy, Caçapa told Foot Mercato. OL is a big club. He's not going to leave him like that either, going down to the second division, because he doesn't have the means. I hope so.”

Admitting to not having spoken too much with his former president since his dismissal at Molenbeek last February, Claudio Pocket ensures that he “will help if necessary. It's my club, I still live in Lyon.” But he concedes that John Weaver must review its way of governing within this timeshare. “The model is not easy, because you cannot be at the same time in the 4 clubs that it has. To work well, you have to put people you trust and, above all, competent. It cannot be either. take care of his 4 clubs alone.” Everyone seems to have understood this, apart from the main person concerned…
