A few days before the resumption of Ligue 1 and the crucial trip to Lille on Sunday (3 p.m.), Stade Rennais has some bad news: Alidu Seidu, currently in the selection with Ghana, was injured after the match against Angola (1-1) last Friday.
The Ghanaian federation announced that he was among the packages for the match against Niger on Monday, due to injuries detected after medical tests. The absence of Seidu, one of the pillars of the Rennes defense, will disrupt Jorge Sampaoli's plans for the clash against LOSC. The Argentine coach will have to recompose his central hinge for this high-intensity match. Fortunately, several solutions are available to him: Michael Faye, Leo Østigård or even Christopher Wooh could replace the Ghanaian. Sampaoli could also turn to the side Hans Hateboeralthough the latter is used more on the side.

Alidu Seidu injured with Ghana
This injury to Seidu comes at a crucial time for Stade Rennais, which is fighting for European places and cannot afford to lose one of its strong elements. If the Ghanaian defender fails to recover in time, Sampaoli will have to adjust his tactical choices against Lille, an opponent who has often posed problems for Rennes in recent seasons.
In the absence of Seidu, Rennes will have to redouble their defensive solidity to hope to obtain a result against Lille.
