OM is on the lookout in the Georges Mikautadze file!

Demoted as a precautionary measure to Ligue 2, Olympique Lyonnais is in a difficult situation. Many departures are expected this winter and next summer. Quality players could be sold off while captains, with high salaries, will not be retained.

OM still follows Georges Mikautadze

This situation should therefore create opportunities on the transfer market for clubs interested in players from Pierre Sage's squad. For example, we have already seen LOSC target Moussa Niakhaté for the winter transfer window while Everton should return to the charge for Ernest Nuamah.

Olympique de could also play a bad trick on their rival. Indeed, according to information from La Tribune Olympienne on X, the Marseille club is still interested in the profile of Georges Mikautadze. Mehdi Benatia and Pablo Longoria are closely monitoring his situation.

Mikautadze would regret his choice of heart

In the sights of OM last summer and especially very close to losing AS Monaco, the Georgian striker finally made the choice of the heart by joining . Having struggled since his arrival and lacking confidence, he has posted disappointing statistics with only two goals scored in all competitions. He would regret this choice of the heart today, still according to the same source.

For its part, the Marseille club perhaps also regrets the choice of Elye Wahi. Bought for 30 million euros including bonuses, the 21-year-old French striker is having a difficult start to his adventure in Marseille. Low in confidence, like last season at RC , he only scored two goals in nine Ligue 1 games.

A deal that is hard to imagine

His performances even pushed Roberto De Zerbi to start Neal Maupay, who continues to score points and seems to be moving ahead of Wahi in the hierarchy of attackers.

An arrival of Mikautadze this winter still seems difficult to imagine for OM, who therefore recruited Elye Wahi and Neal Maupay this summer. Unless Wahi, who is being courted in the Bundesliga, already leaves Marseille – that would be a big surprise – in January.

Olympique Lyonnais would also not necessarily want to sell their striker to a rival and direct competitor for a qualifying place in the Champions League. The Rhone club, remember, aims to qualify for the C1 to replenish the coffers and avoid demotion to Ligue 2.

Passionate about sport and from , I am of course a supporter of the great TFC, which has more titles than OM and OL combined over the last ten years.
