Victor Osimhen's clause in free fall next summer, the right move for PSG?

Valued at 130 million euros when the Nigerian striker's contract was renewed, Victor Osimhen's clause would only be worth 80 million euros today. An amount which will continue to fall between now and the summer transfer window, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Victor Osimhen (25) is unlikely to move this winter. The Nigerian Napoli striker is enjoying his new life in Türkiye where he was loaned for a year. Osimhen likes to insist that he found a large family there, a family that he does not see himself leaving before the month of June.

The international striker (21 goals in 35 caps) has already scored 8 goals in 9 games played with Galatasaray, and confirms that he remains a top player. An attacker who will inevitably be courted this summer, one year from the end of his contract. Osimhen extended a year ago until 2026 and on this occasion a release clause of 130 million euros was included in his contract.

75 million euros this summer?

The amount of the clause was enough to scare away the suitors but according to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the value of the said clause melted like snow in the sun, losing almost half of its value in the space of a few months, for s today at 80 million euros.

This summer, it will only be worth 75, again according to the Italian newspaper. If the player remains out of reach for a good majority of European clubs, other teams of the size of PSG, with whom the striker reached an agreement last summer, will no longer be curbed in their appetite.

A major architect of the 2023 Scudetto with 26 goals in Serie A, Victor Osimhen was highly coveted immediately, but President Aurelio De Laurentiis opposed his departure. Wishing to leave the following summer, Osimhen had an exit voucher, but the matter dragged on, as much due to the player's indecision as to the pretensions of his unpredictable president. Sidelined by Naples, Osimhen signed with Galatasaray at the beginning of September.
