During his appearance on the Super Moscato Show, the President of Montpellier Hérault, Laurent Nicollin, was invited to comment on the news at the Stade Louis Nicollin. A project which has regained color but which has its deadline pushed back by another month compared to the latest trend:
“Currently, we are discussing with the Region and the Metropolis of Montpellier, we are discussing a project around the Arena and next to the airport. A project to create a large exhibition fair, to make the largest exhibition fair in the south of France. And the stadium would be incorporated into it. For the moment, our services and those of the Region are in the process of seeing the financial feasibility. We were supposed to see each other at the beginning of January but there is still a meeting to do. I hope that in January, we will see things more clearly and that “finally”, because I think that this sentence of saying “ we'll see later »it must have been 7 years since we said it… Now, it’s either we do it or we don’t after a while.
We are a club which, if we want to maintain ourselves, we must also have a new tool to allow us to have more financial income, and for people to come to the stadium with much more comfort than what there is currently. »
The leader of the MHSC then had a few words about leaving La Paillade if the new stadium finally saw the light of day: “ This is our story. I was 5 or 6 years old when I played there as a chick on the stabilizers. It's our history but we have seen it, Lille has changed stadium, Lyon too, Nice too… We must not be obtuse and stubborn, we must evolve with the times, and do something better elsewhere. »
