The French U20 team played its third and final match of November against the United States. Without Lisandru Olmeta, on the bench, she lost (2-1) in Marbella.
The Bleuets training camp at the Marbella Football Center did not go as they could have imagined. First forced to wait on the training grounds, the fault of a match canceled without warning, they were then showered in the last moments by a late equalizer (89') from Denmark (1-1). This afternoon, to continue their little adventure in Spain, they faced the United States in a final friendly match.
Undefeated so far in its preparation for the Chilean World Cup which will take place from September 27 to October 19, 2025, the French U20 team fell this Monday. Very open, the match ended up going in the direction of the Americans who took the lead (15') against the run of play. The Tricolores had not managed to realize their highlight, and paid dearly for it. Saved by an opponent's miss, they equalized after a few minutes on a free kick well taken by Aboubaka Soumahoro (24′) for a draw at the break (1-1).
This standoff continued throughout a second act during which the pace gradually diminished. In difficulty, the Tricolores ended up breaking down on a solitary ride (75′). Stunned, they were not able to reverse the appearance of the meeting and they lost (1-2) for the first time in their preparation. A defeat that Lisandru Olmeta witnessed from the bench.
