In discussions with PSG to extend his contract which expires at the end of the season, Luis Campos is also in the sights of a Premier League giant according to several consistent sources.
PSG completed the extension of Luis Enrique a few weeks ago until June 2027 and has also been discussing for a while with its football advisor Luis Campos to extend his lease, which expires next June. On November 2, Le Parisien explained that PSG was confident regarding an extension for the Portuguese and specified that the latter was demanding a salary increase.
But PSG is not the only club wanting to work with Luis Campos. According to Sky Sports in England and Julien Froment (France Info), the 60-year-old Portuguese sports director is also in the sights of Arsenal, which has just lost its Brazilian sports director Edu Gaspar, leaving for Nottingham Forest.
Arsenal ticked off several names, including Luis Campos
According to Sky Sports, Arsenal have just launched their search to replace Edu, whose departure during the season was not planned, and Luis Campos is one of the serious options studied by the Gunners, as well as the director of sports of Bayer Leverkusen Simon Rolfes and the sporting director of Real Sociedad Roberto Olabe, who will leave the Basque club this summer.
The English media specifies that Mikel Arteta is heavily involved in the recruitment process for the future sporting director of the London club. The Spanish manager also went to Los Angeles last week to discuss with the American owners of Arsenal the future winter transfer window as well as the replacement of Edu.
Arsenal, however, do not intend to rush and Edu's successor should not necessarily arrive during the season. Whether he extends or not, Luis Campos should not leave PSG in the middle of the season and still be in charge for the January transfer window.
