OL, the new glacial tackle from Jean-Michel Aulas to John Textor

The former president of Olympique Lyonnais is not happy with the management of the club by his successor John Textor.

It's no secret that Olympique Lyonnais is on the brink of collapse. Targeted by sanctions from the National Directorate of Management Control (DNCG), the seven-time French champion club could be relegated at the end of the season, even if it maintains itself through the results on the field. The situation that OL is going through is not to the taste of the former president, who is breaking his silence.

Aulas will not return to OL

President of Olympique Lyonnais for just over three decades, Jean-Michel Aulas was replaced by John Textor, who bought the club to become its president himself. Since then, the finances of the Rhone club have continued to decline. After a hearing on the financial situation of OL, the DNCG imposed on Les Gones the control of their payroll and a ban on recruiting. Also, the body decided to “demotion as a precautionary measure at the end of the current sporting season”. Ex-president of OL, Jean-Michel Aulas, through his X account, this Monday, spoke out on the club's situation.

“Olympique Lyonnais, with its supporters, is a wonderful club, among the first for academies (M/F) for both women and men. It's up to the new team to write a new chapter in the club's history. I will devote myself to the development of women’s and to the French Football Federation”wrote the French leader.

We can therefore say without risk of being mistaken that Jean-Michel Aulas would ask his successor to sell players in order to save the club and focus on the training center. Also, the former president of OL, through this exit, closes the door to a return to the head of the Cité des Gaules team.
