Luis Campos leaving? The unlikely offer

Luis Campos has been approached by Arsenal to take over from Edu, according to FootballTransfers.

The Gunners are looking for a replacement for Edu, who officially left his role as Arsenal sporting director earlier this month to join multi-club Nottingham Forest.

Campos' three-year contract as PSG's football advisor expires at the end of this season.

PSG and Nasser Al-Khelaifi have informed Campos that they want to extend his contract. Discussions have been taking place over the terms for some time now, but the two sides have yet to reach an agreement.

This led to Arsenal exploring Campos' availability following Edu's resignation. Arsenal's interest has been sparked by manager Mikel Arteta, who will be key to appointing Edu's successor.

Campos to Arsenal?

Campos built two Ligue 1 championship teams in Monaco and before joining PSG, where he won back-to-back titles while completely overhauling the team and significantly reducing the wage bill.

At these three clubs, he demonstrated his ability to recruit underrated young talents who became elite players. He also excelled at intelligently recruiting more experienced players. These qualities and attributes are considered well suited to how Arsenal operate as a club. Campos has long wanted to work in the Premier League.
