Lucas Stassin (Belgium) expressed his feelings after the match against the Czech Republic (2-0 defeat). Obviously disappointed, he wants to react for the return and give the maximum to have no regrets.
An embarrassing defeat
This Friday, the Belgian Espoirs played the first leg of their play-off for a place at Euro 2025. Opposed to the Czech Republic, the Red Imps welcomed their opponents with Lucas Stassin lined up at the forefront of the attack. The match changed in the 34th minute, when Czech number 10 Adam Karabec opened the scoring. This result will remain unchanged until half-time.
After a little over an hour of play, Lucas Stassin was replaced despite an offside goal just before his exit. The Belgians then conceded a second goal in the 80th minute, signed Daniel Fila, who had just come on. With this 2-0 victory, the Czech Republic takes a serious option before hosting Belgium on Tuesday evening.
“The disappointment is great. We had opportunities to do better, but we have to accept it. We have to do more, try to make these small mistakes which cost fewer goals and be more effective up front.” commented the ASSE striker.
“The result does not reflect the progress of the match” (Stassin after Belgium – Czech Republic)
Weighed down by two gross defensive errors but also an offensive inefficiency which did not allow them to realize their situations, Belgium is in bad shape. Tuesday evening, we will have to be efficient and have no regrets for the Stassin gang. However, the mission promises to be complicated and dangerous!
According to the words collected by voetbalkrant, “We had several chances, the goalkeeper made intelligent saves. With Romeo, we both had chances. The result of the match really does not reflect the course of the match”reacted Lucas Stassin.
