Mercato: Disaster, OM will miss a €6.5M transfer

Relegated to the ranks of undesirables at OM, Lopez took over the management of Girona in the form of a loan with a non-obligatory purchase option of €6.5 million. This departure, however, does not guarantee a long-term future in Catalonia. His non-existent playing time casts doubt on a definitive acquisition by the Spanish club.

Barely landed at loon on June 29, Roberto De Zerbi did not take long to mark his territory. The new Italian coach, known for his technical demands, was clearly not seduced by the performances at the foot of Pau Lopez. The Spanish goalkeeper, although a starter in previous seasons, was quickly asked to join the group of players deemed undesirable, a choice made jointly with the sports management led by Medhi Benatia. A quick end to the chapter for Lopezwho sees his future in suddenly closed under the leadership of the new strong man on the Marseille bench. However, he could already come back.

Lopez doesn't play

Loaned with purchase option to Gérone, Paul Lopez has been going through an ordeal since his return to Liga. The doorman lent by loon has still not played a single minute this season. When he had to do it King's Cuphe was forced to withdraw.

Towards a return to OM?

Loaned with a purchase option set at €6.5M, but without obligation for his current club, Pau Lopez could well return to the ranks of OM at the end of the season if his situation does not change. Gérone doesn't seem to count on him.
