The international break continues for RC Lens players. Yesterday, four Lensois saw their national team play their first match of this November gathering. From Jhoanner Chavez to M'Bala Nzola via Andy Diouf and Przemyslaw Frankowski, a quick overview.
M'Bala Nzola, the only Lensois to have played
Angola of M'Bala Love held Ghana to a draw (1-1) during the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations (CAN). Ghana opened the scoring with a splendid long-range free kick from André Ayew (18'). Angola, already qualified, plans to come back to the score quickly by causing a penalty. Lensois M'Bala Nzola takes charge but comes up against the goalkeeper (28'). He came out in the 59th minute and his replacement, Zini, scored the equalizer. Final score 1-1.
With Ecuador, John Chavez did not play a single minute in the crushing 4-0 victory over Bolivia. In a one-sided match counting for the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, Enner Valencia scored the first goal on a penalty. It is followed by a double from Gonzalo Plata. It was then Alan Minda who completed the perfect match for the Ecuadorians. The Tricolor is currently 5th in these qualifiers with 16 points.
The Lensois Andy Diouf he also did not see the pitch yesterday against Italy U21. Lille's Ayyoub Bouaddi was preferred in midfield. The Bleuets came back from a two-goal gap to snatch a draw. The two teams parted with a 2-2.
Przemyslaw Frankowski is injured and returns to Lens
This is a new blow for RC Lens but also for Poland. Przemyslaw Frankowski was forced to return to Lens after a muscle injury. According to the Polish selection: “ Przemysław Frankowski suffered minor damage to one of the adductor muscles“. According to them, the player could return to the field within ten days. Added to this is the heavy defeat against Portugal (5-1) for the Poles in the Nations League. Their next match is on Monday 18 against Scotland.
