The return for a long-term injured person!

ASSE is already eleven days into this League 1, 2024-2025 season. Moreover, Olivier Dall'Oglio has already used a significant number of players since the start of the season (27). This figure could continue to grow with the return from injuries of Anthony Briançon, Thomas Monconduit or the return of a certain… Cheikh Fall!

Cheick Fall (ASSE), injured since February 2024

Cheick Fall, the young attacking midfielder from AS Saint-Étienne, suffered a serious knee injury last February. Diagnosed with a ligament problem in his left knee, Fall underwent surgery, which kept him away from the field for many months. The injury will force Fall to miss the remainder of the 2023-24 season, and his rehabilitation has extended into mid-October.

Regularly present among the professional group in training, he took part in three matches with the flag team (2 in Ligue 2 and one in the Coupe de ). He is a player the club is counting on. In fact, the club offered him a 3-season professional contract in June 2023. It is therefore linked to ASSE until June 2026.

Back on the green rectangle after 7 months of absence

After a long rehabilitation, the Senegalese midfielder returned to the pitch. He officially resumed official competition against Clermont (1-3 defeat). Entered to play 45 minutes, he regained sensations and his knee seemed to be completely healed. He even had his first start this weekend against Seyssinet (1-0 victory). Established in central defense, he played nearly 80 minutes before giving way to Jules Mouton, Louis' brother. Yesterday, he was in the match against which also won 1-0 (Wadji's goal).

It will take a few weeks for the Guédiawaye player to regain his pre-injury level and physical abilities, but he can be a serious candidate to apply for Olivier Dall'Oglio's group. Unless the club finds him a loan next January to get playing time at an intermediate level. A win-win solution for everyone before a roaring return for the 2025-2026 season?
