In six Ligue 1 home matches, OL received more than 52,000 supporters on average. The best total in Ligue 1.
In recent weeks, OL have pushed back their best mark of the season in Ligue 1 several times. This started with the reception of Auxerre at the end of October. The 2-2 draw was watched from the stands by 54,868 spectators. This was then the record for the 2024-2025 financial year, ahead of the defeat against Monaco (0-2) in August (54,392 people).
Building on this enthusiasm found in the aisles of the DĂ©cines stadium, the derby against Saint-Etienne won 1-0 on Sunday attracted 58,082 supporters, the second best attendance for the club in its history. Following these three posters, but also the three other receptions of the season, including Marseille (53,228 visitors) and Nantes (51,888), Olympique Lyonnais displays an average of 52,709 spectators after a third of the competition.
23rd best attendance in the world
According to calculations by the Sports Business Observatory, this is the best French total, ahead of Marseille (50,300) and Paris Saint-Germain (46,600). The Rhone institution would even be in the top 30 of the best attendances for football in the world with a 23rd place. It ranks between Flamengo (Brazil, 52,900) and Newcastle (England, 52,200).
OL's next home match is scheduled for Sunday December 1 against Nice (5 p.m.). As for Ligue 1, it still has to welcome some big names, including PSG (February 2025), Lille (April 2025), Rennes (April 2025) and Lens (May 2025).
