The President and Owner of the Girondins de Bordeaux,
Gérard Lopezappeared this Wednesday morning at the Lille criminal court and was notably found guilty of complicity in the illegal exercise of the profession of sports agent, as reported by L'Equipe. This was a preliminary admission of guilt procedure (CRPC).
If he has ten days to appeal, Gérard Lopez was sentenced to 10 months of suspended imprisonment and a fine of 45,000 euros. Indeed, this concerns a sports agent without a valid license and non-declaration of hiring of a collaborator, Karim Sendwho was a scout at LOSC and who we saw today at the Commercial Court.
As a reminder, while he was an employee of Lille on October 1, 2017, the hiring of Karim Saada was only regularized on March 26, 2018. Karim Saada also received a 10-month suspended prison sentence as well as 5,000 fine of euros for “illegal exercise of the profession of sports agent without a valid license”.
Maitre Pierre de Combles de Nayves reported his conclusions to L’Equipe.
“We are satisfied today with the agreement reached with the Lille prosecutor definitively putting an end to the proceedings carried out against Mr. Gérard Lopez, and leading to a sentence with limited consequences […] The prosecutor also proposed to the judge that this conviction not be entered in bulletin no. 2 of the criminal record, thus authorizing Mr. Lopez to continue his activities without any restriction, in France or abroad. »
