FC president plans to share Parc des Princes with PSG

Asked on Tuesday about the FC stadium file, President Pierre Ferracci was very clear. If his club's priority remains to remodel Charléty or settle in Jean-Bouin, the idea of sharing the Parc des Princes with Paris Saint-Germain has clearly made its way into the manager's head.

It seems like this is a recurring problem for Parisian clubs. Like PSG, Paris FC is also considering changing stadiums to take a step forward. After the green light from the DNCG for the takeover of the club by the family of Bernard Arnault, the first fortune in , the PFC continues to work on the construction site of its stadium. If Charléty is struggling to fill up in Ligue 2, Pierre Ferracci is optimistic for the future.

“The ideal gauge for a club which establishes itself permanently in Ligue 1, which plays rather in the first part of the table and which plays Europe quite regularly, is rather the level of the Juve stadium in Italy, therefore 41,000 or 42,000 places”, slipped the current president of the Parisian club on Tuesday during his visit to the set of the L'Equipe channel. “So it’s true that the Parc des Princes is not far from it if that’s what you want me to say.”

“Filling a stadium with 20,000 seats is enough for us to be happy”

Ambitious for his club, the boss of the current leader of Ligue 2, dreams of seeing the PFC establish itself permanently in the elite. And, if necessary, Pierre Ferracci also cherishes the hope of seeing the two Paris teams coexist at the Parc des Princes as his “favorite club”, Inter, can do, sharing its stadium with AC Milan or on the model of Rome's two rivals (Roma and Lazio) playing at the Stadio Olimpico.

Pierre Ferracci does not know if his PSG counterpart would agree to this. But according to him, with or without the approval of Nasser al-Khelaïfi on the issue, it would be an ideal solution for Paris.

“In times of shortage where we are not increasing public facilities, I mean that it is a hypothesis that should not be completely rejected,” further explained the leader of the PFC in the program The Evening Team. “It is certain that, in any case if there was no possibility of extension to Charléty or Jean-Bouin, the question of volume would arise. For the moment, filling a stadium with 20,000 seats That’s enough for our happiness, whether we’re in Ligue 2 or we’re in Ligue 1.”

PSG keeps control of the Parc des Princes

Despite its current conflict with Paris town hall, PSG still remains the club attached to the Parc des Princes. From this point of view, Pierre Ferracci refused to be “in denial of reality” and does not yet want to interfere with the other Parisian club.

“Afterwards we will see”, however warned the leader of the PFC. Before concluding: “The question of sharing, in fact, perhaps one day it will arise. Afterwards I hope that the two clubs will deal with their stadium problem intelligently and that there will be no stadium war in Paris.”

At the moment, as Pierre Ferracci once again reminded us, Paris FC's priority remains to find a solution to develop Charléty as he wishes or to share the Jean-Bouin stadium with the Stade Français. Here again, the PFC is not the only decision-maker.
