Mercato PSG: Sporting Portugal opens the door for Viktor Gyökeres! – Transfers

Saint-Germain continues to carefully monitor the performances of Viktor Gyökeresthe flagship striker of Sporting Portugal. With 23 goals in just 18 games this season, the 25-year-old Swede has had a string of remarkable performances, including a recent hat-trick in the Champions League against Manchester City. These impressive statistics make him a prime target to strengthen Luis Enrique's squad for the big challenges to come.

This Monday, Frederico Varandas, president of Sporting Portugal, addressed the possibility of Gyökeres leaving in the winter transfer window. “I can't promise anything. If a club comes to pay the release clause and the player wants to leave, he will leave. Do I believe that? No.” With these words, Varandas acknowledges that a transfer remains possible, while affirming his confidence in the player's desire to stay in Lisbon.

Gyökeres has quickly established himself as a key player at Sporting and has a release clause set at 100 million euros. If this amount may seem dissuasive, the interest of PSG, in search of a prolific scorer, could well push it to consider this option. His profile as a powerful and regular attacker could fill the offensive need of the Parisians, looking for talents capable of making a difference at the highest level.

PSG could therefore intensify its efforts to bring him in this winter, while waiting to see if Gyökeres would also be ready to take the plunge to play in Ligue 1 and make his contribution to Parisian European ambitions.
