The Blues no longer want Mbappé? The big update

The president of the FFF, Philippe Diallo, assured that Kylian Mbappé wanted to be part of the last French selection, while explaining what will happen next.

The World Cup-winning striker was sidelined in October due to fitness concerns, despite playing at club level with Real Madrid when he was thought to be injured. Didier Deschamps has once again left Mbappe out for the upcoming Nations League clashes against Israel and Italy.

It has been suggested that Mbappé asked not to be selected as questions arise over his working relationship with Deschamps, but Diallo claims that is not the case. He told L’Equipe: “I think so,” when asked if the 25-year-old superstar was keen to join the Blues.

The big explanation

After the last international break, will not be back in competition until spring 2025. Diallo hopes Mbappé can return to the fold next year, adding on future plans: “Above all, I hope that he will come back as quickly as possible to bring what he has already brought to the France team. He is a huge player who is currently in a more delicate period, as can happen. I hope he can return to his best level as soon as possible. »

He added on Mbappé's absence: “It’s simply a choice of the coach who calls the best possible group at that moment. He considered that the best possible group, the best possible balance, was the selection he made. Then that leaves us until March for Kylian to find his place in the group. »
