Rodrygo, Militao and Vazquez injured before half-time, Madrid's nightmare against Osasuna

Facing Osasuna this Saturday in La Liga, Real Madrid lost Rodrygo and Eder Militao to injury, both of whom came out in the first half, as well as Lucas Vazquez, replaced at the break. The Brazilian defender appears to be affected in the right knee, having already suffered a torn cruciate ligament in the other knee.

Injuries are piling up for Real Madrid. Opposed to Osasuna this Saturday in La Liga, the Merengue club lost Rodrygo and Eder Militao in the first period, both replaced. Lucas Vazquez was also affected but held on until half-time, before finally giving up his place in turn.

Rodrygo, who was making his return after injuring his right biceps femoris against Dortmund on October 22, left the field in tears in the 20th minute of play, apparently suffering a relapse. His compatriot Eder Militao was evacuated on a stretcher after collapsing in the area in the 26th minute, visibly injured in the right knee.

Militao previously suffered a serious injury to his other knee

In August 2023, Militao suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the first La Liga match of the season against Athletic Bilbao. This injury sidelined him for eight months.

Hit after his two teammates, Lucas Vazquez returned to the game after being strapped. Had the right-back gone before the break, Carlo Ancelotti would have used up all three of his substitution sessions and he would not have been able to make changes in the second half.

After two defeats, against Barça in La Liga (4-0) and AC Milan (3-1) in the Champions League, Real Madrid opened the scoring against Osasuna in the 34th minute thanks to Vinicius. Englishman Jude Bellingham doubled the lead in the 42nd minute, his first goal this season. The Brazilian striker added two other goals (61st, 69th) after returning from the locker room.
