DAZN is having its “black Friday”. The streaming channel which won the broadcast rights to the French Football championship last June unveiled a new offer this Friday to attract subscribers: from 19.99 euros with a twelve-month commitment, the channel is offering, for two days only, an offer of 14.99 euros for eight months.
At the end of this period, the price will jump spectacularly, to 39.99 euros, the price initially set by the channel in its business plan, which had angered many supporters and managers of French football. This promotion, which is only valid on the Amazon Prime platform, and for 48 hours therefore, since the offer will end on November 10.
Without obligation for the first time
The big advantage of the offer, praised by Internet users, is that for the first time it is without obligation. Before that, you had to commit to a minimum of 12 months, which obviously increased the price considerably but above all had the disadvantage of paying a subscription in June and July for example, when it was the Ligue 1 break and so there were no matches to watch.
500,000 subscribers only, for a goal of 1.5 million
The question now is whether this flash offer will allow DAZN to finally take off. While its managers have set a target of 1.5 million subscribers at the end of the first year to be financially balanced, the figures, even the most optimistic, are very far from the mark. As of November 1, there were around 500,000 subscribers to the streaming channel.
