Julian Stéphan says goodbye to Stade Rennais

Stade Rennais has made an important decision concerning Julien Stéphan and has already found its solution.

The start of the season Stade Rennais is far from expectations. While it is considered one of the best clubs in , the Breton club is having difficulty establishing itself in Ligue 1. Despite a squad made up of many talented players who should allow them to appear in the top 6, the season is proving complicated. With a 13th place in Ligue 1the Bretons must start again on good foundations, and the leaders have realized this.

Julien Stéphan, club coach since 2023, is not unanimous within the club. Accordingly, the leaders made the decision to separate from the French after a very difficult start to the season.

What future for Stade Rennais

With the departure of Julien Stéphan, Stade Rennais must equip itself with a new coach capable of getting the most out of a quality squad. To regain an enviable position in Ligue 1, the club could turn to a renowned coach. Interesting names were mentioned, such asHabib Beye, currently without a clubor the former OM coach, Jorge Sampaoli. Moreover, according to the press, the Argentinian would be in pole position to take the reins of the team.

Journalist Sébastien Denis reports that the announcement of Julien Stéphan's departure caused great relief within the locker room. Jorge Sampaoli is tipped to become the new coach of Stade Rennais. The next few hours could be crucial for the club's future, and an official announcement could be imminent.
