Ruben Amorim, the Red Devils' next manager, warns England fans that he is not a miracle worker.
With great expectations weighing on his shoulders given that he is already typecast as the worthy successor to Sir Alex Ferguson, Ruben Amorim has warned Manchester United fans not to expect immediate success.
Amorim leaves Sporting CP for United after leading the Lisbon outfit to a stunning 4-1 Champions League victory over Manchester City. This triumph at the expense of Pep Guardiola only increased the illusions of United supporters.
Amorim takes time
The Portuguese, however, says the Old Trafford faithful should not expect an immediate impact after he takes charge. He said Wednesday evening: “We cannot transpose one reality to another. United can't play like us, they can't be as defensive. Of course, it's good to beat City. But I will live in a different world, we have to start from a different point.”
Amorim may try to appease general enthusiasm, but there is no doubt that his arrival in the northwest of England will be accompanied by great frenzy. His debut during the MU – Leicester match will be particularly scrutinized.
