The outlines of the winter transfer window are starting to become known with one departure and two arrivals planned to change the face of OM.
Olympique de Marseille hit hard this summer by largely renewing a squad which had not kept its promises the previous season. Players have arrived in all positions, to complete the squad or strengthen a team now led by Roberto De Zerbi. Obviously, after the first three months of competition, lessons can be learned and there is a need which has been clearly identified by the Olympian management. If bringing in Adrien Rabiot as a joker made it possible to expand the midfield, it was the lack of choice with high-value players at the full-back position which disturbed OM. A problem which will be resolved as a priority this winter, announces La Tribune Olympienne, for whom a purchase in this sector of play is clearly the top priority. This also explains the rumors in recent days about interests in these positions, such as the Nigerian international Bright Oyasi-Samuel.
A loft to empty of two elements
In the other direction, a little cleaning will also be carried out. And according to the Marseille source, two players are invited to quickly find a new club if they do not want to spend the season following the matches from the stands. This is, unsurprisingly, Chancel Mbemba, who has returned to collective training but is still very cold with the Marseille club. Six months before the end of his contract, the Congolese will however be very difficult to move, even if OM are ready to waive a transfer fee if this allows him to limit expenses with his salary.
The other player asked to leave is Emran Soglo. At 19, the former great hope who left for Chelsea at a very young age signed for Marseille in 2022, but does not seem to be part of the plans. However, he convinces in England where he is an U20 international. The fact that he does not wish to extend his contract makes any improvement in his relationship with OM almost impossible, and Pablo Longoria will do everything to push him out this winter. Last summer, he had several touches in Italy and the Netherlands without managing to find a new club. A year after his scathing debut in Ligue 1, including a goal against Metz, Emran Soglo is asked to leave as quickly as possible if he does not want to lose a full year.
It's not good to be in the OM loft, and two players will certainly have a complicated month of January if they decide to stay at the end of their contract at all costs.
