Mercato: Rennes would think of Rudi Garcia
According to L'Equipe, Rudi Garcia would be one of the avenues considered by Stade Rennes in the event of the departure of Julien Stéphan.
Will Stade Rennes make a change of coach? The day after a humiliation at Auxerre (4-0), doubt hangs over the future of the Breton club, 13th in Ligue 1 after 10 days, and without ideas on the pitch.
“At the moment there is simply a feeling of great disappointment which belongs to us all, we must all take responsibility, me first. The team at the moment is not up to what we expected. But we absolutely have to pick ourselves up, work hard, and right now is really the time when we all have to stop and think,” Frederic Massara responded yesterday, avoiding the subject of the question on the fate of his coach.
“It’s not my place to answer that. I have courage and the desire to work, the desire to make things progress. Afterwards, it’s not my responsibility”replied Stéphan in parallel.
Garcia, Vieira, Kovac ?
Two weeks ago, L'Equipe discussed the trail leading to Igor Tudor. The Croatian would not today be interested in the Rennes challenge, according to the sports daily which reveals that Rudi Garcia would be one of the avenues studied. Free from any contract, the Frenchman who passed through Lille, Marseille and Lyon worked with Massara at AS Rome.
L'Equipe also indicates that Patrick Vieira would have been offered to SRFC, while the name of Niko Kovac, ex-coach of Bayern Munich and Monaco would also be circulating. Ouest-France adds Habib Beye to the list of these tracks.
