– Stade Rennais: Internal audit, “a management decision” according to Stéphan

Asked about the subject of the internal audit carried out by Grégory Dupont over two weeks, Julien Stéphan did not want to elaborate too much, this decision not being the initiative of the staff.

Since the start of the week, Stade has been the subject of an internal audit carried out by Grégory Dupont. The former physical trainer and then performance manager who worked for , the FFF, or Real Madrid has been carrying out an observation mission of the different components of the club, mainly sporting, since Monday.

“It’s a decision on the part of management. We were told this after the match”succinctly explained Julien Stéphan, questioned on the subject this Friday at a press conference. “And there is no impact on our daily life, on our functioning. For the rest, I can't tell you more, because it's not our initiative, we staff. »

A 15-day observation mission

The news was surprising from the outside, but also internally where a good part of the club was able to learn it via Ouest-. This is therefore an initiative of the new president of the club Arnaud Pouille, who explained during his presentation a few weeks ago that “It is by understanding how it works that you can best follow the roadmap that has been set for you.”

Grégory Dupont and his expertise were therefore called upon, but he is not a stranger to everyone at Stade Rennes. “We worked together for a year and a half, we know each other very, very well”confirms Stéphan who knew him in , but who qualifies. “But you have to distinguish everything. We worked together for a year and a half, and today at the request of management he is coming to do a 15-day audit.”

The least we can say is that the coach was not voluble on the subject, stating however that “Any idea that would help develop performance is a good idea. Any gains that can be made, it’s a good idea”. Dupont will therefore remain at SRFC until the match against (November 10, 5:00 p.m.) and should observe each cell making up the Breton club, before rendering his conclusions. Will these lead to important decisions? At a time when SRFC is in urgent need of points but also of quality of play, the pressure is increasing another notch within the club, and it is felt.
