“Colder”, “hard work”… Luis Henrique and De Zerbi talk about post-PSG

After the slap received at home against Saint-Germain (3-0), the Marseillais redoubled their efforts this week, where Roberto De Zerbi was cooler with his players. At a press conference, he and Luis Henrique returned to this painful post-Classic.

“The nature and the stakes of the match made the defeat difficult to digest.” After the slap received by Paris Saint-Germain at the Stade Vélodrome (3-0), silence reigned in the locker room. “It was difficult to talk between us,” said Luis Henrique this Friday at a press conference, before adding: “We have to turn the page, show what we are capable of doing on the ground.”

If Olympique de Marseille didn't show much on Sunday evening. Deprived of the ball (around 25% possession) and quickly reduced to 10, after the exclusion of Amine Harit (20th), the Olympians disappointed their coach. “He was extremely annoyed, so were we, but he perhaps a little more. He gave us his confidence, there was a lot of work done…” reports the Brazilian left winger. A poor performance which did not remain without consequences. “This week has been harder, the work has been a little harder. He has been colder towards us. But that’s normal,” he explains to journalists.

Regain victory in to move on

OM has had time to think since its big disappointment. And after this particular work week, the Marseille staff still have two days left before the next deadline. But Roberto De Zerbi did not place the blame solely on his group and also questioned himself, “wondering why his players played with fear.” The Italian technician maintains confidence in his group. “The boys have trained well. We want to move forward. Maybe there will be some changes in the players, but it starts with mentality, character and courage”, underlines the former Brighton manager this Friday.

In the same vein, Luis Henrique also wants to “work hard to get the best result in the next match and be happy again.” The Brazilian, decisive twice in the last five matches, wants to be revengeful. “We must give an answer as quickly as possible. Not only for our supporters, but also for us. We must not doubt for long, we must turn the page and do everything to show that we can play something this season”, he declared. The Marseillais know they are eagerly awaited and will have to get rid of FC Nantes, at La Beaujoire, Sunday evening (8:45 p.m.).
