The current coach of Sporting Portugal has been appointed coach of the Red Devils until June 2027, with an additional year optional. The Portuguese coach arrives at the current 14th in the Premier League to replace Erik Ten Hag, who was dismissed from his duties on Monday.

To complete the signing of Ruben Amorim, Manchester United paid 10 million euros to Sporting, the amount of his release clause. However, the Mancunian club clarified that its new coach would only take up his duties during the international break, on November 11. Until then, he still has three games to manage on the Sporting bench.
