Barça confirms PSG’s gigantic offer for Lamine Yamal!

FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta says he turned down a 250 million euro offer this summer for Lamine Yamal, without revealing the club’s identity.

So was the rumor true? According to the EFE agency a few weeks ago, the equivalent of AFP in Spain, Saint-Germain tried to recruit Lamine Yamal, the FC Barcelona striker. It was just before the Euro.

This proposal amounted to 250 million euros, aiming to make Lamine Yamal the most expensive player in history. But Barça quickly refused, arguing that Yamal was not for sale, and was destined to become the new Messi at Barcelona.

“A club came to see me”

A few weeks later, Barça confirmed… but without mentioning PSG. “A club came to me to sign Lamine for 250 million euros and I said no,” FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta told the club’s official podcast, Barça One, which went live on Thursday. “He is the most popular player in the world. What is the true value of Lamine? Well, that is not reflected in the book value,” Laporta continued.

The Spanish international (17 years old, 17 caps) is under contract with Barça until June 2026. His contract, signed in 2023, comes with a release clause of one billion euros.
