AS Monaco – LOSC: The opportunity to end a fortnight of drought for the Mastiffs

LOSC travels to AS Monaco this Friday, as part of the eighth day of Ligue 1. The Mastiffs, led by Bruno Genesio, have not won in fifteen years in the Principality.

Ligue 1 McDonald’s resumes this Friday, with a duel between AS Monaco and LOSC in the opening match this Friday at 8:45 p.m. This is the 54th time that the Stade Louis II has hosted the Mastiffs in its enclosure and suffice to say that this one has not been successful for them with only nine successes, against eighteen draw results and twenty-six defeats as a sad record. It’s simple, LOSC has not defeated AS Monaco on home soil for fifteen years (i.e. twelve matches). ’s last victory dates back to the 2009-2010 season, and it was resounding with four goals scored by Tulio De Melo (39′ and 55′), Yohan Cabaye (71′) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (86′) for a final score (0-4). This result nevertheless remains a historical rarity.

Summary of recent meetings:

  • AS Monaco – LOSC, 04/24/2024: 1-0
  • LOSC – AS Monaco, 29/10/2023 : 2-0
  • AS Monaco –LOSC, 05/14/2023: 0-0
  • LOSC – AS Monaco, 23/10/2022 : 4-3
  • LOSC – AS Monaco06/05/2022 : 1-2

The trend is indeed less negative to date, where the trend is more in balance. There have been three consecutive points sharing between 2021 and 2023, the last of which was a goalless draw (0-0). The setback conceded in 2024 hurts all the more as it is one of the only meetings during which the Mastiffs did not manage to shake the net. This has only happened twice in their last 22 games. This Friday, October 18 is therefore the opportunity to make the figures lie for Bruno Genesio and his gang.
