Big blow for Paris Saint-Germain and its supporters before the French Classic against Olympique de Marseille.
After the international break, French Ligue 1 resumes its rights this weekend. But in 10 days, notably on Sunday October 27, Paris Saint-Germain will travel to the Stade Orange Vélodrome to challenge Olympique de Marseille for the first French Classic, counting for the ninth day of Ligue 1.
Parisian supporters banned from traveling
As was the case last season, Paris Saint-Germain supporters will not be able to travel to Olympique de Marseille. The match of October 27 at the end of the 9e day of Ligue 1 will therefore be played without PSG fans. This Thursday, the Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, was published in the official journal this Wednesday. The government points to the fierce rivalry between the two clubs and the fear of excesses. A decision denounced by the Parisian ultras in a press release a few hours later.

Invoking “animosity” between OM and PSG supporters “for many, many years”the Minister of the Interior judges that there is “a real and serious risk of confrontation” during the Ligue 1 Classic. Furthermore, the political authority also recalls that “part of the police forces, deprived of rest throughout the period of the Olympic Games, had to be placed on rest, thus reducing the available resource” to ensure security around the Vélodrome.
